- Exactly. If only the president had the authority of a line-item veto. Then you could say the President was responsible for federal spending in an overall sense. But the Democrats keep blocking that reform, as they block any reform that could reduce spending quickly.

Dictatorship started before President Obama took office; it should not be anyone business when a woman wants to have an abortion. Instead you have those protesting, killing doctors, burning building; but they consider themselves Christains. These people should not be able to protest when it is not any of their business. The government nor any people should not be involved with anyone personal live. What is the difference in health care and abortion rights. None!

oh- one more thing- how does poor people spending money on necessities NOT boost the economy- they're spending money they wouldn't have spent otherwise. Each dollar someone spends is actually spent 13 times in a local economy. That is how jobs are created- not by flipping houses, day-trading, etc. Stimulus packages are by definition government spending. No one else has any money- except the top 1%- and they don't need to spend- so the gov't MUST step in as a customer. Any job created puts $ into the economy, and the lower down the economic ladder the money goes to, the more likely it is to be spent, thus stimulating the economy. Don't let facts cloud your opinion...
